Celestial Navigation

I finally got around to going through my transits for the year (nice to have an astrologer, that would be ajrose93, in the house) and cross-checking them in Rob Hand's Planets in Transit. Funny thing about astrology: you don't have to believe in it or even know about it, but it's still working away describing your life. Sorta like evolution, only on a faster, individual level.

This year looks pretty good: new opportunities, lots of creative potential, and significant life changes. But the big theme of this year seems to be a renewed interest in spiritual matters. Not that I haven't been all my life. An early convert to buddhism after a rigidly Catholic upbringing, the progression to atheism, then onto thelema/taosim. Our place is filled with a miscellany of spiritual insignia: statues of the buddha, mudras, Greek and Egyptian sacred sculptures (including fridge magnets f'rghodsakes!), angelic tablets and the like, enough to scare the superstitious workmen. Nevertheless, last week I impulsively purchased a Tibetan temple bell for the living room, something I would not normally do, but right on astrological cue. Not to mention starting this blog.

As they say, the planets incline, they do not compel. So liberally sprinkled through Hand's summaries are both warnings and advice for best use of these energies. But it means that, for good or ill, you can expect a lot more philsophical musings from yours truly. Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy ride.
